What We Believe

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven."

Mayflower Hills Baptist Church substantially agrees with many of the ancient confessions of faith; such as the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Definition of Chalcedon, and also identifies with the Baptist Faith and Message of 2000.

God The Father

We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He infallibly foreknows all that shall come to pass, that He orders and disposes all things according to His own purpose and grace, that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

God The Son

We believe that the Son of God the second person of the Trinity in his very nature is co-equal and co-eternal with the Father and that he is the eternal Word made flesh: Jesus Christ, God's only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit. We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth.

God The Holy Spirit

We believe that the Holy Spirit is a divine person, eternal, and in all the divine attributes co-equal with the Father and the Son. We believe the Holy Spirit came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ. We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ, and that He is an abiding helper, teacher and guide.
